You will probably be aware that German text is usually longer than the English original. This can lead to text overlapping or being cut off, which not only looks really bad in a game, but can actually make a text unreadable, thus rendering the program incomprehensible. Programming errors and truncated German lines are a manufacturer's nightmare, and aggravating for gamers. Effective Media keeps these potential problems in mind before the localisation has even begun.

We also offer QA (quality assurance) services for your product, which consist of a final test of the localised program and a search for errors. Despite our best efforts to avoid all potential errors from the beginning, every program has its little flaws that are never spotted until the final version. What is the use in investing a lot of money and time into a basically very good German version, if you later find that minor problems impair the overall quality of the finished game? Only a perfect software can be guaranteed to thrill your customers.

During the course of the linguistic QA - which, by the way, we offer for international language versions, as well as for German - you will receive detailed bug reports from us, either via e-mail or through your own QA database.
